Chris,
A Q&A section, that people can write in their question and get it posted. Some people don't have access to computer's so this section could really be either be run by a local allergist that's willing, or someone that can get answer's to the clinical side from a allergist.
P.S...I will pay my membership today

How about information on how to approach a school and how to go about creating a plan? Things like questions to ask, options for cafeteria, ie peanut-free table vs peanut-free area, where epi will be kept, etc.,etc.
Maybe info on the Tanox vaccine? Info on labelling and where certain companies stand? Info on various legislative issues? Info on different types of allergy tests and what test results mean?
I'm trying to think of things I am not familiar with myself, but everyone is so active on these boards, so many areas are already covered! Still, a newsletter will be wonderful!
I would love articles on how schools in different countrys handle the allergy problem.
How teachers cope with allergy in the class room . Perhaps an article that features teachers with different views on allergy and epi -pens in the classroom. The law and its effect on teachers who are trained to use epi -pens .
Articles on allergy from different countries, eg , fish allergy in Japan , which is more of a problem than peanut. etc
Teenage workshops for coping with allergy, how much does it cost? How is it funded? through charites ,etc? , what experts are employed to give advice? .
Perhaps a peanut allergic teenager could give their opinon after attending a allergy workshop. ?
Any way , theres a few ideas, bye, sarah!
Yes, Sarah! Those sound interesting!
What about taking a current hot topic on the board (e.g., the medical alert issue) and having some professional address it (like contacting medical alert and having them make a response).
I believe I have read somewhere that the author Lisa Capriano Collins does phone consultations with parents trying to cope w/ their child's food allergy?
What if she were to contribute in each newsletter some of her insights?
Like the "Coping Corner" or something like that.
(I could use her right about now!!)
Advice/stories on how to show other people (relatives) how important it is to take PA seriously.
Success stories with schools. Or the "school of the month" for best PA program.
How about a on going list of drugs and such
to stay away from, if Peanut allergy ,or milk allergy ,or Penicillion allergy.
This way we have a hard copy for the PA kid or adults Medical file we can refer back to.
