what to ask?

O.K. I ventured out again to a restaurant with my kids today (after the chick-fil-a thing) and I took them to Quiznos. I asked the pour kid making my sandwich all about nuts in the restaurant etc. even though I brought food for my son. He likes to pick at my food. I felt pretty good about the whole experience but I have no idea if I asked the right questions or anything. I had the most trouble keeping him away from the goldfish crackers (MA) that they put in the kids meal my older son ate. All in all a good experience

lalow, glad to hear you had a good experience.
What questions did you ask? What allergies does your son have?
Best wishes!

He is MA and PA (notconfirmed by allergist yet). I basically just asked about the nuts and not the milk. I asked what products they had in the store with nuts, if they had any kind of sandwiche fixings or breads with nuts in them. I know I had a big chance for cross contamination with the dairy because the are cheeses right there but the kid had just put new gloves on. And so I chose not to worry about that. (he has reacted before to very small amounts of cheese like one time my husband made my other son a grilled cheese crisp and then grilled a tortilla for Ben with just veggies and he broke out mildly with hives. there was no visible cheese on the grill.)
