Somewhere on this site I read about something called FANS (I may be spelling it wrong). I need some help educating my daughter's teacher about peanut allergy. She is very cooperative but so far thinks it's sufficient to "try" to keep peanut snacks away from my daughter at snacktime rather than eliminating them from snacktime to begin with. I think she will be receptive if she understands the severity of the problem. My daughter often (at church and school) has to police her own snacks and return them to the teachers which scares the #@*! out of me. HELP! please. Thanks so much...Joey

You are referring to FAAN (Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network) www.foodallergy.org
There is also an organization called The Food Allergy Initiative at www.foodallergyinitiative.org (I think this is right).
Since I just went through this for my 3 1/2 yr old, If you would like, I can fax you the material that I just sent in to my son's teachers. It might be more than you need, but you can pick out what you like out of it.... You can email me if you like...
