I registered my 5 y/o PA DS and 8 y/o DD at a new school for next September. Although my motivation was primarily for educational reasons, I was extremely impressed with the food allergy/anaphylaxis policies in place at the school and found the Principal to be a willing partner in keeping Wade safe next year.

It will be quite a change for the kids as we are changing school boards as well as schools and this school is an "alternative school" that supports independant learning with multi grade classes.

Wade was identified this year and our present school was not willing to do much of anything in terms of acceleration to assist in his education. I think the phylosophy at the new school will be great. The only drawback is the fact that we are out of our school zone so I will have to drive them to and from school. Seems like a small price to pay.

Wish us luck!

Good luck, Katiee!!! It sounds like a positive change for lots of reasons. Keep us posted and let us know how things go.

p.s. We changed schools for Leah in 2nd grade and it turned out to be all for the better. I was so nervous about her leaving her old friends, etc. But, I can honestly say that I am so glad we made the change.
