Hi Corvallis Mom,
Why can't you get the Frosty anymore? The butterfinger and oreo mix-ins are in a packet and get mixed by the customer.
Erik, thanks for asking... it isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things I know, but DD has redeveloped a dairy allergy.... IMO it would be horribly cruel to eat one of her favorites in front of her now that she can't have it without breaking into hives (or worse... since she seems to be increasingly sensitive to traces...)
Anyway, other than for Milk allergy, or egg allergy, we definitely trust Wendy's. Or did six months ago. Enjoy your Frosty for us, guys!
do you have an ice cream maker? do you make soy ice cream. remember that the soy ice creams you buy in stores can have nut traces. good luck.
No can do soy. Sucky thing at my house is that we have four different LTFA and 3 more less severe FA... and none of them are shared by more than one family member!! We do use soy cheese for DD, because it doesn't get into other stuff, but no milk or smeary stuff.
We're going to make some citrus-free sorbet next summer. Or a rice-milk based sherbet.

I'm in NJ.
At the Wendy's website, they have a link on their nutrition page to a PDF document where you can check each menu item for allergens *and* possible cross contamination. As Erik said, the mix-ins for the Frostys are in seperate sealed packages, so I consider the Frostys to be very safe - it's actually the only soft ice cream ds ever has, and he loves it!
Here's a link to their nutrition page:

yes thank you i went to their website. i just worry because every store can be different. like with the pizza hut post. some use peanut oil, some dont, some use peanut traced topping on their dessert pizza.a people said read the website it says no nuts but it also says on pizza hut website that a manager can chose to do what he wants. also when you call places and they tell you they use peanut oil or nuts you have to believe them and not go there

I don't believe that this is the case with the Wendy's chain. We never have any problems with Wendy's. In fact, my PN/TN allergic son is eating nuggets and a frosty right this minute.
Take Care,
Jaime
Wendy's is the only Fast food chain that I trust. We check each time. I am happy with there storage of allergens & the prepackaged items for toppings.
I do NOT trust McDonalds or BurgerKing
