My son, who is 6 is allergic to peanuts and some tree nuts. He is in public kindergarten and I am still trying to work out some issues with his school and their allergy policy.

what are the issues
Other parents bringing in snacks for the whole class that are not safe for my son such as peanut butter crackers. There have been a few times when I've picked up my son from school and he has candy that is not ok for him but his teacher does not check with me first or read labels before giving him the candy. It has been pure luck that my son hasn't gotten sick. Thankfully my son seems to know to check with me first before eating candies and cookies. I just worry that for a six year old that can be a bit much to expect from them which is why I wish his teacher was more careful.
