Hi I joined last month and just now had time to introduce myself. My youngest daughter has a severe allergy to Peanuts and Walnuts. (We also have to restrict Corn at times.) Our house has been peanut free since 2007 as soon as we were given the results from the allergy testing. We had "limited" nuts prior to that. Our older has severe allergies. (trees, grasses, dust mites, animal, pollen, ragweed, etc.. but no food allergies) Both our children go to public school and participate in other activities. You can live with a peanut do need to watch everything! We always carry an Epi-Pen and benadryl. (along with inhaler for asthma and other prescribed allergy medicines) We make sure their school is following proceedures to make sure ALL of the "allergy" children are as safe as possible! I've enjoyed your info....Thank you Kate

It was great for me to join this group. It helps a lot knowing there is a great group of people facing some of the same issues in their families that we are facing. I've already learned a lot from this site. It's great to get ideas or information from real life people. Thanks for sharing the info about your son. It seems when you have an allergy it is usually to more than one thing. =(
