Hi everyone,
New to the forum. Feeling a bit distressed :-(
I have 15 month old b/g twins. At 13 months, I decided to give my kids some PB on a slice of bread. There is absolutely no history of allergies in mine nor my husbands families, so we figured we should go ahead and try. My girl had no reaction to the PB, but my son immediately broke out in hives, seconds after taking a tiny piece of PB bread in his mouth. We gave him Benadryl and the symptoms resolved.
Well, after performing the RAST test, doc said he is Level 4. She prescribed Epi-Pen for him for daycare and home. I have no experience with this at all. Anyone have any thoughts/advice? What do I do next? I can't believe that one twin would test + and the other would not! Argh! :-(
Just don't give them peanut products. It's very very very simple. Be careful with asian foods, they often contain peanuts.
Teach your children to be AWARE...not fearful. You'll have mentally unstable children otherwise.
