Greetings everyone, my name is Francis and I've been living with deadly peanut/nut allergies for 30 years now.

I haven't always lived comfortably with it, often became obsessed with them, but lately I managed to overcome some fears that kept me from fully enjoying life.

I'm sounding like a crappy life coach right now, but I know some of you must be keeping themselves from traveling afar or eating anywhere else than McDonald's. I know I was.

My girlfriend and I just came back from a roadtrip from Montreal to Washington DC and passing in NYC before coming back home.

This wasn't a very exotic travel, but it's still the first time I drove to the US, had to get a passport, as it was time to leave, I felt very shaky about all this. Where am I going to eat ? I'm french, are they going to comprehend the seriousness of my allergies ? They have peanut fields in the US, am I going to drive through one ??

Almost lost it, but I said to myself : Screw it, it can't be worse than Canada. AND there was no peanut field in the way (Still had to check).

Man this is getting long, sorry everyone, I'm wrapping this up.

Anyway, I was very well treated each time we went to Restaurants (most of them picked up in a list on this forum), tried some that weren't listed, and overall had a great time and was glad to see something else than Montreal.

As I'm sure we'll travel more now, I'll be posting the Restaurants/Hotels we're trying and write a little something about each one.

So, that's it :)
