Anyone know of any restaurants that are great or that we should avoid? We are traveling with a large party and everyone gets to pick a restaurant one night. One wants Morocco. I was wondering about this one. I called the head of Magic Kingdom dining and she was great, but the head of Epcot has yet to call me back. The head for Magic Kingdom thought we should avoid China and Japan. Japan? I was surprised at this one. I thought it is all just grilled right there in front of you. I would really appreciate any advice. I'm in charge of handling the dining plans for our trip later this year and I can begin to make priority seating arrangements at the end of this month. We are going during the holidays so I thought I might need to do this as early as possible. We already have Hoop De Doo reservations. Does anyone know if this would be a safe place? They don't have peanuts do they? The head of Magic Kingdom also told me I could send her a fax with all our plans and she would send it out to our restaurants. I thought this was great. She said when we go in to just ask for the chef to come to our table to go over our requests. Thanks! Shan

pWe have been in contact with the head chef for the Magic Kingdom. It has been a while since our last conversation and he is suppose to get back to us with answers to the many questions we posed. When you contact Disney (or any other manufacturer or company) be sure to mention PeanutAllergy.Com. This gives them the understanding that we as a community are requesting them to take this allergy seriously. The more all of the companies hear from us the more likely they are to address peanut allergy! Companies have contacted us because they have received so many calls and want to address our concerns rather than keep fielding the calls. Contacting companies to see if they are dealing with peanut allergy is making a difference, keep up the good work!/p

pYour post belonged on the PeanutAllergy.Com Restaurants Board! Information is much more useful when it is on the proper board and can be found easily! Think about if you were looking to find out about restaurants and if you had to read every thread to find information about them. I have just spoken to a few people who are new to the allergy and the site and I hear often how much time it takes them to read all the posts. If someone posts to your thread here on the main discussion board with great info that could benefit many people, the info may be hard to find rather than just being right there on the restaurant board. As you know, I would rather you posted to the wrong board rather than not posting, but be sure there is not a board about your subject before posting to the "Main Board". This board is for subjects that there is not another board for. I know sometimes people think it will be seen more on this "Main" board etc. The reason we developed the board system we have is so everyone can help organize information etc. and because a new post can be noticed no matter what board it is posted to! So don't worry about your post not getting noticed because it is on a board other than the "Main Board". This is just a name we decided to call this particular board, it doesn't give it any more importance than any other board. Keep up the posting and the good work!/p

pChris I can't win! UGH! I'm so sorry. I even looked through the boards trying to decide which one would be the best to post on. I thought about airlines, but I was looking for vacations. Didn't even think about restaurants! DUH! I know you are getting tired of correcting this. I am starting to be scared to post! LOL Sorry! Shan/p
pHi Shan,br /
As you know I am not upset about it. I just want everyone to try to keep things organized and you seem to give me lots of examples to use to remind everyone. He He Hebr /

pHi Shan,/p
pWe just returned from WDW in May and had great experiences at the following restaurants:/p
pEpcot - The mexican food restaurant at the World Showcase -it was both kid friendly and the staff was wonderful about pnt allergy - Basically, all their menu items were safe when we were there, but you will want to double check that again when you get there./p
pMK - Tony's - the staff was also kid friendly and allergy aware. The only nut item served is a pesto dipping sauce made with pine nuts, so we didn't have them bring this to the table. Ditto doublechecking when you get there./p
pWe ate at a Red Lobster and Chili's right outside of WDW, and the staffs there were super about pa. They said they get asked frequently about pa!/p
pWe also ate at the Columbia House at MK and at a hamburger and fries place outside of the Indiana Jones theatre at MGM with absolutely no problems./p
pYou can e-mail me if you need more info. I'll be glad to share!/p

pHey, Chris/p
pHow about a Vacations / Recreation board?/p
pThat way it would cover a lot of the ongoing topics about holiday celebrations (Hallowe'en is coming up), the baseball issue, Walt Disney World, etc./p
