Hi,

I have been giving my 20 mos old PA son Walkers Shortbread cookies. He is also soy allergic, so it's hard finding commercial treats that he can eat. He loves these cookies which include only wheat flour, butter, sugar and salt. Recently I noticed a warning that said "not suitable for nut allergy sufferers". I called them today (1-800-521-0141, web site: www.walkersshortbread.com) and mentioned the warning to the representative. She said that is b/c the shortbreads are manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts. I said that I had been giving them to my PA son. She said they do not use pnuts in any of their products - only tree nuts. I know that they do have some products w/ hazelnuts and pecans. I recently had my son skin tested for tree nuts & it was negative (thank God!). So, I'm glad I can feel safe w/ Walkers Shortbread. I think they're a very high quality product. The representative seemed very knowledgeable.
