Someone posted here awhile ago about how having a video of a reaction would be useful. I think actually doing that would be difficult in a lot of ways, but I was wondering about a computer simulation of different reactions? Would that be more possible and still give the very real perception of a reaction? Any ideas?

I think that's an excellent alternative. With the sophistication of computer animation these days, you could get pretty close to reality.
I just wanted to let you know that I emailed the Discovery Channel website yesterday, with the above idea.
They had a special on TV a few months ago detailing what goes on inside the body during, for example, a heart attack. I suggested they might sell a lot of videos if they could come up with an anaphlylactic reaction episode. (We could show it to all our relatives who downplay food allergies!)
I let you know if I receive any sort of response to my email. Take care, Carolyn
That was a great idea, Cayley's Mom - I think you're referring to "The Body Story". There's a whole series of those that are incredibly well done and informative...others I think, are on the body's reaction to a virus, sex , etc.
It would be awesome if they decided to do one on anaphylactic reactions. I'm going to e-mail them as well with further encouragement!

Yes it was the same series I saw - virus, heart attack, even death. It was very well done and so interesting, I'm sure a lot of people would become well informed about anaphylaxis if they saw it.
Thanks for the back up, Jackie! If anyone else is interested in contacting The Discovery Channel regarding this video reaction idea, here are the email contacts:
letters@discovery.com
viewer_relations@discovery.com
or you can phone at 1-888-404-5969, but I think this phone # probably only works in the U.S.
I just e-mailed them also. What a great idea!
I emailed them too! Maybe if they get enough requests, they'll do it! =)
This is great, everyone! I forgot to mention in my initial email to The Discovery Channel, that this would also be a valuable educational tool for schools. Think of the effect it would have on staff and students - they might finally get it!
I'm going to email them again on Friday, if I haven't received a response, and I will include the "education angle" - maybe that will give them the idea that lots of money could be generated by this idea.
If anyone else has an idea to share - please do! We need all the help we can get! I mentioned this website (PA.com), and PA individuals and parents of PA's buying videos in my first email.
I just sent them an email too.
This is an excellent idea! I too e-mailed Discovery Channel today for the request.
Let's keep our fingers crossed they make one!
I received a response from the Discovery Channel today, regarding the video reaction idea. Hopefully, they are serious about considering the idea. Here is the response:

Let's hope this isn't just a generic response, and that they will actually give the idea some consideration. In my response back to Rachelle, I suggested that they might sell a lot of videos to educational institutions (money talks), so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Once again, it's just great to see all the people here, emailing with the same suggestion. We have power in numbers!
