Hi it's me again w/ the shea butter problem. While I was at my daughter's allergist, she gave me the vanicream cleansing bar to use on my daughter, but I am hesitant on using it being that she still has some hives on her body. Has anyone used these products before?

I haven't used the cleansing bar, but I have used the Vanicream lotion. I think it is a good option to try.
Another gentle alternative is Cetaphil liquid cleanser. It has no nut oils in it.

Mom to 7 yr old PA/TNA daughter and 4 yr old son who is allergic to eggs.
We just tried this week (allergist gave us) samples of the skin cream. Haven't tried the soap yet- no problems with DD (she's PA/TNA) but of course every child can be different- and there are other ingredients in cream that I suppose someone could react to. I did contact the company last week and the lady who emailed me said they don't use any nut derivatives- but do use coconut- and referred me to their website for complete ingredient listings for their products (NOTE: as ingredients change frequently anyone reading this should verify for themselves in case their formulations were to change)
We were also told about Cetaphil- but the one kind does have macadamia nut oil in it -so for now I didn't really want to use any of their products (possible cross contamination?) since DD is also TNA.
Just my opinion-no medical advice given/intended.
We use the Vanicream soap every day. My daughter is a very atopic child and has hives on a weekly basis. We use Vanicream soap, sunscreen, cream, ect... Love the stuff.
I use vanicream soap every day and have had no problems with it.
The AllergyMoms newsletter that will be coming out later this week will have an offer for subscribers to get a set of FREE samples of all the vanicream products.
They make a cream, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen and more.
Its only for subscribers and will be for a limited time. (the newsletter is free and you can unsubscribe at any time)
My son uses only their products. They were recommened to us when we visited Mt Sinai years ago.
Take care,
Gina

They only deliver to the USA and I am in Canada.
Since I will be in NY stste in a couple of weeks, I have asked a pharmacy to order the Vanicream soap and cream for me.
It has really helped my DD skin.
Thanks again.
