Just doing some research and wanted to give a link to the Utz site. I'm not sure if they are just in the Northeast or in other parts. Their site is very informative with regards to allergens.

We always use Utz products. They really are the best tasting, and they have excellent labeling!

We used Utz with no problems until my son started reacting to sunflower oil.

Almost all of the pretzels are not safe with regard to sesame. But there are a few choices.
They have a chart in the link I posted above. It tells you what contains allergens and what may be contaminated...

I contacted Utz today regarding their honey wheat pretzel twists and they were not helpful and the first person I spoke with was hostile toward me.
They said they dont' make this product and couldn't tell me about the manufacturing process, only that there are no nut ingredients. So, I asked for the number of the manufacturer and offered to call them myself. The man called them and called me back to say there are no nuts in the plant.
Now, after all that and them not knowing, I don't feel safe feeding this to my girls. Anyone have more info for me?
Thanks!
Patty

I have been dealing with UTZ this past month and they have been very helpful. I needed snack items that gluten, sunflower, peanut and nut free with no chance of contamination. One of the Directors of product development faxed me that the items that I chose were free of the ingredients that our school kids have allergies to. I will say, UTZ does list some oils in the ingredients statement that are NOT in the actual ingredients such as sunflower. They were very helpul in clearing this up.

I just bought the Halloween packs of Utz pretzels. I buy them every year. But this year I think they have changed their label--for the better. Here is what is says:
Ingredients: Wheat flour, salt, malt syrup (derived from barley), corn oil, sugar, yeast, soda.
Allergy information: Contains wheat and barley. This product is made on a dedicated production line. It does not contain any ingredients not otherwise listed. Made in a peanut and tree nut free facility.
