I called about Bertolli olive oil (1-800-450-8699) and reached a Unilever CSR. She gave the same speil as Kraft has - could not give my any information about shared lines on any of their products. She was a CSR for just a few of the Unilever brands, but she said they are all trained in the same way. They tell you about the top major allergens and their cleaning process, blah blah blah, but refuse to answer if nut products are made on the same line as ANY particular product. She was sympathetic to my frustration - and the fact that even though some of their products may be perfectly safe for PA, we cannot make that determination without more information.

So, FYI, Unilever also owns/manufactures: Borsin cheese, Brummel & Brown spread, I Can't Believe Its Not Butter, Ragu, Lipton, Take Control, Best Foods/Hellmans, Knorr Soups, and Skippy Peanut Butter!

She would not let me speak to a supervisor, but gave me their address: Unilever Consumer Services, 920 Sylvan Ave., Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632.

Does anybody use these products? We use the Hellman's mayo, but now I'm questioning it. Should we Take Action?

Do you have any contact info.? Did they say anything about the mayonnaise? Maybe some of the brands under Unilever are still run somewhat independently. Thanks.
