Trouble finding safe foods - Peanut Allergy Information

Trouble finding safe foods

Publish date:

I was hoping someone could give me some suggestions and/or recipes that I could prepare for my child. His food allergies are peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, rice, and soy. We have been managing his PA/TN allergy for a few years but the others are new. I'm having a difficult time finding foods that he can safely eat. Going grocery shopping with his allergy list is daunting. Can anyone give me some guidance? I'm also trying to find bread for him. Even Ezekial bread contains a tree nut warning on the label. I'm running out of ideas. Thank you!

I have tons of safe recipes on my website at www.allergenfreerecipes.com use the search box on it to look for specific types like chicken or chocolate then it will pull up all related recipes.

Egg Replacer should work for many recipes. It is vegan and soy and nut free.

I have a soy allergy and am also allergic to nuts. Finding bread is the worst. When I was first diagnosed I bought a bread machine so I could make my own bread and know what was in it. I remember at first I thought I would never be able to have a sandwich again.

I agree with the bread machine. My son has the pn/tn allergy and the bread machine has been a true godsend!! I also make homemade pizzas with it as well. If he is OK with dairy(no allergies) then an ice cream maker is perfect...You will know exactly what goes in your homemade ice cream!! We purchased a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker for around $50 bucks and have used it for many years. Soy is a hard one that unfortunately, I do not have any personal experience with and sadly it is used in so many processed foods it is crazy!...
