It depends on what you're avoiding. We only avoid peanuts and tree nuts and we still use them. Check out this page on their website: nutrition page (scroll to the bottom). It says We are pleased to be able to inform you that, at this time, all of our confections are gluten, peanut and nut product free. We do not use wheat, barley, rye, oats, triticale, spelt or any of their components and that includes our manufacturing process. We do use corn and soy products in the manufacturing of our products.

It's also addressed on this page

We use a lot of tootsie products- the new mini-chews (less chewy and do not stick as much to kids teeth) are great and come in movie size too

Hello all,

I want to mention the Toostie Roll pops I picked up at Dollar General store @ 2 weeks ago had a label that read "Made in Mexico".

I have read in several other posts some are leary of eating foods from other countries especially to food labeling laws (cross cont and shared on equip).

Have any of you seen this lately? Has there been a change? I have not yet had a chance to call the manufacturer.

I called Tootsie today about another product (the Junior Carmels) and was told that ALL of their products are peanut/tree nut free. You can check out their website for a list of their products at

Are they Made in Mexico or packaged in Mexico?

On May 30, 2007

I initially did not read the labeling until I got home with it. I decided to read it and good thing I did say Made in Mexico. I read it three times just to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks...

Not to offend anyone who may be from Mexico or have family there, but our US govt already warns us not to eat their foods. I have seen some on this PA board say they don't trust the Mexico's labeling or any other country's other than Canada.

So, I just wanted to give the heads up on the Tootsie Roll Pops labeling which I had purchased at Dollar General. I have not had a chance to see/read Toostie Pops labels at other grocery stores yet.

We're avoiding PN/TN/Kiwi, too!

You don't see kiwi mentioned that often so I thought I'd respond and let you know!
