Thanks for the info, I'll set the VCR!
I just watched the segment. Today they talked about gluten allergy. It was very well done. They discussed the difference between intolerance and allergy, discussed how serious an allergy can be (even deadly). The specifically mentioned that they will be talking about peanut allergy. I guess that will be either tomorrow or Friday. Perhaps the emails from this site has prompted them to do this story!
I just caught the tail end of the segment (I've got it on tape to watch later), but they said Thursday is milk allergy, so I'm assuming Friday will deal with PA. I guess they're saving the "best" for last . Cayley has outgrown the severity of her milk allergy, but it still shows up as 1+ on her scratch test. I'll be glad when it disappears entirely. Wish I could say the same for PA!
Thanks Carolyn. I can't wait to watch it.
Is there anyone who lives in New York City who is willing and/or able to go stand in the crowd outside the Today Show studio with a huge "PeanutAllergy.com" sign on Friday??
Wow, Concerned Mom! That is a great idea! Unfortunately, I'm about 10 hours away from NYC - any extroverts on the board willing to do this?
Great idea concerned Mom! I am originally from NY and wish I could be there! I'll be looking for you!
Just came in to post about this guess that's what happens being on the west coast. From what they said tommorrow is dairy and friday is peanut. I was impressed about they talked about cross contamination. and putting stickers on the safe foods. They also talked about going to restaurants. If you go to the today show web site it talks about the food allergy network. If I was in New York I would volunteer to go with a Peanut allergy banner but I'm in California.

I'm pretty sure MomtoMom (or is it Mom2Mom) has posted that she lives in NYC. Hmmm.
Cayley's Mom, how 'bout we just head there about now?
Best wishes!

Well I'm only 2 hours away but I have my son with me all day since he's not in school due to his life threatening allergies. We all have to start writing letters to everyone complaining about this country and the ignorance when it comes to PA. If everyone that writes in to this web site would right a letter that would be a big beginning. Any letter I receive I will be giving to my State Rep. I have already talked to him about my son's story and I am trying to get his story out on National TV to bring attention to this PA problem. No child should have to go through discrimination because of Life threatening allergies. My son has life threatening allergies to many different things and I have found the training in our schools is not sufficent. Now I'm going up against the school system and the state statutes.
