9. Debbie Quillen(My name in big letters.)

Debbie Quillen's 7-year-old son, a Fort Mill Elementary School student, is fatally allergic to peanut products. Quillen lobbied the Fort Mill School Board to remove peanut butter from the school cafeteria. Within months, Quillen got what she asked for. Students returned to school in August to find that a lunchtime staple, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, had been removed from all of the cafeterias' menus.
Anyone living in SC who is at a school where the administrations is saying they "cant do it": I will gladly mail a newspaper to them for you. They can, they just dont want to.
Again, I never talked to the school board...the media never gets it quite right. But, I still like it.

congratulations!
I feel cheated, tho, since a few years back I challenged our school district's lawyer, demanding they remove PB sandwitches from the Federal Brown Bag Lunch Program offered at the school, theorizing that *one* Federal Program/legislation should work synchronously with another (ie: 504 or IDEA----or at least not prove a hinderance).
All I got was a formal letter from the district lawyer stating it would be removed.
I still have that letter.
and it's still of the district's Federal Brown Bag Lunch menu.
