Can anyone explain what the test results mean and how sever the allergy is if the result is 16mm X 8mm? Thanks

Tommi, I answered your question about scores in terms of the RAST test. In a skin test interpreting the significance of the size of the weal depends on the positive control. Here's a link that explains types of allergy testing and may be able to make things a little clearer:

You really should have your allergist give you a clear explanation of his/her interpretation of the test results.

Does anyone have a link to a chart w/ this information? I'm very happy with DS's allergist, but they don't use a scale. He had an anaphylactic reaction to peanut butter - the first time he'd ever eaten it. (But I ate it constantly when I was pg and nursing!) It was later confirmed with skin testing. The wheal was 10mm x 8 mm and the flare was 25 mm x 25 mm.
