Wish you were a little farther south! We are in Columbus.

Me, too!

Hi AJSMAMA. I live in Hilliard which is just west of Columbus. My husband and I would love to meet other parents with the same concerns too. PA/TA or any food allergy for that matter. We're frustrated with my son's K. class bringing Reese's PB Cups for Valentine Day party today. Teacher knows re: allergy but proceeded to allow kids to eat them! Are you in the Columbus public school district? How do they handle these types of issues? I'd love to hear from you.

My son is four and is in pre-school. He goes to preschool in Dublin. They have been fairly good as they are a peanut free school. I have a had a couple of incidents with other parents bringing in unsafe items.

We are in the Olentangy School District. I am not certain yet how they will handle food allergies.

My son turns five in July so it sounds as if our children are pretty close in age. Please e-mail me and I can send you a phone number if you would like to get them together at Tuttle (maybe) for a playdate. A.J. has never met anyone else with an allergy like his.

We are in Mansfield, about an hour north of Columbus. PA son is 5 - been busy lately preparing to meet with his school to discuss PA. Just wondering how other parents in Cleveland or Columbus handled the PA with their schools.

I just saw a flyer for a food allergy support group that is forming in the Columbus, OH area. The first meeting is on 2-23-06 (Thursday) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Old Worthington Library.

Could not find any information on the meeting. See my comment in the "OHIO....Columbus area" topic. I think we should post there since we are not discussing Cleveland anymore.

We live Cleveland. Highland Heights to be exact. My PA son is 4. By any chance are you the mom who was featured in the News Herald a few months ago? If so, Hi, we spoke on the phone. If you are not that mom, Hi and where do you live?

Akron Children's Hospital has a support group that meets quarterly at the hospital. They told me babysitting is available. The coordinator of the group is out until March 2nd. When she returns, I'll post more details.

Hey Dawn:

We are in Avon Lake (Steven's Mom). Our son just turned 2 and has a PA/TA as well.

I think the close proximity to Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital, Rainbows, etc. should give us reason to try to create a support/action group in Northeast Ohio. Maybe we could add more of focus on food allergies?
