In the morning:
wash, drain, and cut into "long" fourths one 16oz container fresh strawberries.
add 1/3 cup sugar to this. Use potato masher to partially mash while retaining some chunks. set aside
cube one loaf pound cake into 3/4-1 inch cubes. set aside
22 oz. prepared chocolate pudding. I use one I find in the refrigerated section, erik.
one 12 oz. container whipped topping (not aerosol)
large, preferably "see-through" multiserving dessert dish to put all this into. With a flat bottom, preferably. I use one that looks like a giant sundae dish. With a flat bottom.
2 tablespoons sugar.
**********************************
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar on bottom of dish. The inside bottom.
spread half of poundcake cubes in a single layer on top of this.
cover with strawberry mixture.
layer no more than half of the whipped topping (non-aerosol) on top of this.
spread other half of poundcake cubes in a single layer on top of this.
spread entire 22 oz of chocolate pudding over this.
cover with remainder of non-aerosol whipped topping (or a little less). I always have some left over.
cover with food wrap.
refrigerate until after dinner. (tastes better when it "sets-up" for a while)

Choose ingredients based on needs. I find I can use many commercially prepared items. This may not be possible for some. Individual Mileage May Vary. I might be doing it all wrong. And what's for dessert tonight........

Great idea to include a picture! Sounds and looks yummy! Ooo, I can just take all the flavors blended together.
Oh yum, MB!!!
I happen to have one layer of a layer cake in the freezer that fell apart when I left it cooling in the pan too long (got carried away with a very aggravating call with my SIL ). I figured I'd make trifle with it, and have been waiting for an opportunity. If I can find some decent berries, I'll do it this weekend.
Thanks!
Amy
