pStar Wars cereal which advertises as a crunchy corn cereal with sweet marshmallow shapes, is made with peanut flour! You will be mislead by the appearance because it looks like Lucky Charms. Thank Goodness my PA allergic 6 year old is very picky and refused several attempts to try the cereal. I definately took this for granted and my 11 year old alerted me to it this morning. Shame on me.I am proud of my other kids, they really pick of the pieces when I leave them out./p

Was there adequate labeling on the box?

I saw the cereal too. It was labeled with bold lettering as an allergen. I was disappointed for my son, of course. I'm glad they labeled it, but why peanut flour?! When I saw the box at first I was glad thinking that he could actually eat a "themed" cereal. Oh, well... There is "free" star wars merchandise in some of the General Mills cereals. Unfortuntely I found them in cereals that they can't eat. (ex. Reese's, Count Chocula.) Luckily there are pens in Cinnamon Toast Crunch. He doesn't eat that one, but my older one does. Has anyone seen any others?

Kellogg's has star wars cereal with no peanuts. They do put warnings on their boxes. This cereal is orange and purple stars with clone trooper cookies. Some of their other cereals have star wars toys in them.
I bought it at Loblaws in Ontario.

Sorry, I wasn't specific. I was talking General Mills and Kelloggs in the US.

My husband purchased this cereal the other day for our son comparing it to Lucky Charms and assuming it was safe. Of course, I read everything that enters the house and caught the warning. It was a bummer for my son.

Does anyone know what is in Count Chocula? It says "contains peanut ingredients". I think this is weird. It doesn't say peanut oil, peanut flour, or may contain traces of". Is this a contamination issue or does it actually contain peanuts? Just wondering.

It's a cross-contamination issue. That warning is also on the "Frankenberry" and the "Booberry". I remember it being in a FAAN newsletter when they changed the labeling.

To AnneMarie, or any other Canadian mom.
What Kellogs cereals does your PA child eat?
I have a hard time finding one's that DON'T have warnings.

Hi,
There are several Kellogg's Canada cereals with no peanut warnings:
Kellogg's Rice Krispies
Kellogg's Corn Flakes
Kellogg's Corn Pops
Kellogg's Star Wars
Kellogg's Raisin Bran
Kellogg's Vector
I am sure there are more... maybe Fruit Loops?
Be sure to avoid Honey Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes and Crunchie as they each contain a "peanut warning".

Hi McKenzie's Mom! Long time no see.
Cayley enjoys Kellogg's Just Right. The only warning is for traces of soybeans.
See you around!
Carolyn
P.S. Yes, erik, Froot Loops is safe, too.
