Someone Is Trying To Tell Me Something!

pHello! You'll all know who I am. I will not tell you. My e-mail account decided to go down for a couple of days earlier this week.br /
My head exploded! Now, I try to post on my beloved www.peanutallergy.com website and guess what? My UserName and Password are just NOT THERE! To top it off, I go to re-register so I can start posting right away (or suffer withdrawal by this evening, no doubt) and they won't allow me to have the same e-mail address as someone else they can't find - ME! So now, after this Introductory Post, I am off to set-up a new e-mail account!/p
pI hope I'm able to get this sorted./p
pBest wishes! /p

Aww well ...
Now you can go incognito! We were always concerned about some strange person having too much info on you - time for a change.

Philip's Mom, thank-you, but I think it's too late for me, in particular, to go incognito.
I had had a discussion with a couple of other PA parents that are my friends off-the-board and it was pretty well agreed that incognito would/could never work for me.
My long winded babbling posts are just too discernible. Also, after nearly 3,000 posts, if anyone wanted to truly find me for whatever strange reason that would be, they would have done so by now. I never felt the need to be incognito except when I had used my real name as my UserName so that meant I couldn't refer my son's school to this website. Other than that, I have always felt good about it. I continue to feel good about it especially when I have new people to the board contact me just because they see my name everywhere.
I know I'm shameless, so that's why, for the time being, I will be your Alternative to Mainstream (which is really meant to be Your Online Alternative to the Mainstream, but that was too long. Also, I would like to thank Rilira for that one!).
Best wishes!

LOL Nope, you can't go incognito, even when you try. ;-) Mike had problems registering too. I registered with our main email address and he tried that and of course couldn't. Then he tried our alternate address and it said someone was already registered with that one too! I still haven't figured out what's up with that!! Ah well. At least you're both able to post now. =)
HAHA!- I just noticed Mike never signed out, so I just posted under his name. OOPS! This is going to take some getting used to with us both posting. lol

Matt's Dad, well, it's obvious who you are too! I had the same problem when my DH posted a couple of questions and we got cookied under his name and password and I posted under his name when it was really me, except, of course, with me, I just went and deleted the whole post and put Oops!
I just find this difficult because I didn't like having to open yet another e-mail account. I'm especially hesitant to start any new threads (I've started enough already this week ) because I don't want to have to keep checking both e-mail accounts. I have enough backlog with my original one! I don't need a third e-mail account. At least right now I know if I do check the third e-mail account it's only in response to this Introductory Thread.
I'm still as to why I all of a sudden disappeared. I have a conspiracy theory, but I'll just share that one off-the-board! LOL!

Cindy - I like a conspiracy theory as much as the next gal, but I must tell you, if this is your first experience with losing your User Name - you're laughing!
I lost mine FIVE times!! Now, I finally sent Chris a joking "Are you trying to tell me something?" e-mail, and he laughingly assured me it's just computer gremlins. I know quite a few of us have lost our names in the past few months, so, no worries!
MattsMom (Dad?) - I did the SAME thing a few weeks ago! My husband registered one day and I forgot to check to see which name I was using the next day. I posted using his name "Blackfly" under a thread that was discussing a fear of BUGS in the Off Topic section! How embarrassing!
His user name, Blackfly, is a shortened acronym of "Black Family" (our last name is Black), but I think he actually picked it because he knows he can be a pest, LOL!

Cayley's Mom, thank-you, I feel consoled!
Actually, I don't mind having the sheer number of posts wiped out, but my UserName?
My date of membership? I'm noted as a Junior Member?
If my head exploded re the e-mail closing down for a couple of days, you can imagine what's happening in my household right now.
To top it off, I'm desperately failing FlyLady. Desperately!
Best wishes!

Hi All,
I am surprised no one noticed a few months back when my registration file became corrupted and I lost my
"Chris PeanutAllergy.Com" number of posts etc. I know how it feels to have it happen. I remember looking at Cindy's number of posts and comparing it to mine when I started again at zero. We can delete your corrupted or old registration file so you can use your same username and/or e-mail address again, so if you need us to let us know and send your old user name and e-mail address so we can locate your old file to delete. You will then be starting from zero posts, but you will still have your user name and e-mail address. Just send me a detailed e-mail with your info, then I will e-mail you back to let you know you can register again.
I guess I have a conspiracy against myself also. LOL.
The good news is that we are told that the reason we are experiencing the latest problems with the boards is because of the large amount of people accessing the boards. This is good news as there are many new people coming to the boards each day. The bad news is that we need to upgrade everything right now (the board software and the server which we will have them hosted on)! We need to do this quickly! FYI: The board software company blames the server we have them on and other things, the server blames it on something else, and it goes on and on and round and round. Welcome to the internet world.
As you may know, we just upgraded recently, and thankfully, because of the growing number of us finding this site and accessing these boards, we already need to upgrade again.
Upgrading needs to be done as soon as possible. By the way, if you have any knowledge or experience with Ultimate Bulletin Board let me know ASAP.
We are currently backing up the information on the threads often so we don't lose any information, as well as helping those who experience problems with the boards.
We need to upgrade so we can archive some of the posts without closing the actual thread (this is possible now with the newest release of the board software and this was not possible when we upgraded just a few months ago). Archiving some of the posts will help the hosting server to be faster as there won't be so much information called up by each person visiting. We need to find a server which will be fast and also will not give us 500 server errors when there are so many of us using the boards at one time. Finding a good server and moving the boards there takes time and it will be much more expensive than what it costs us now so I hope these boards mean a lot to you and that you will help with a financial donation to help cover the costs of the upgrades.
Let others know how important it is that we raise money fast to take care of this problem. Cindy and others (oops, did I give your new identity away? LOL)I am not writing this on this thread to have it directed at you that we are looking for money. I know that you send your financial support and you know how appreciative I am and you also know how much your financial support is needed. I am however asking everyone who has not contributed this year to please help out with financial support. We have to have the funds available to pay for this resource and we need to upgrade NOW!
There are so many important issues we are working on and we must have the resources.
Join as a paying member today and if you have not already send a donation. There are thousands of us now using this site regularly and hundreds of thousands coming to the site each year. We can work together to support our resource. If you have not joined in with us yet I hope you will ask for more information on becoming a member (and hopefully a Charter Member) of PeanutAllergy.Com
Here is a link to request more information or to join as a member if you have not already this year.

Chris, since I could still keep my new UserName when I want to act like a fool, to lighten things up in my own head, I'll e-mail you directly now asking for my old name back.
It's totally okay that I lose the number of posts that I had, the actual # posted there because it was embarrassing and led people to believe that I have nothing better to do than be here (which may, or may not, be true )
Many thanks and best wishes!
