An e-mail regarding r Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps®

I just found these and love them. I've only eaten the deli original ones. But someone brought home a bag of the Garlic Parmesean ones, and after a look at the back I saw "MODIFIED FOOD STARCH" which made me think "uh oh." So I e-mailed the company, and this was what I got:

Good Afternoon:

Thank you for your email regarding our Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps®.

Our Original, Garlic Parmesan, Everything, Sesame and Buffalo Wing flavors are manufactured in a peanut and tree nut free facility.

Our indulgent flavors (the holiday flacors) are manufactured in a totally separate factory than the flavors mentioned above.

The MFS is an Instant Modified Corn Starch. It is used at a low percentage in the seasoning. It will help the seasoning adhere to the product if moisture is present during application of the seasoning.

Because of the NLEA (Nutrition Labeling and Education Act (passed in 1990) we are required to clearly indicate allergen information on all packaging. Our packages clearly indicate what ingredients and allergens are contained in our products. In addition to the allergens listed on the packages, our facility manufactures other products that may contain milk, wheat, soy and sesame ingredients.

Just wanted to share with everyone. When I saw "MODIFIED FOOD STARCH" I thought, oh, no! But looks like they're still on my safelist. :)
