We're wanting to get away next weekend to go to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlingburg area for a few days as a getaway. We have been before, but not with our PA son. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on restaurants? He is 3 and would like child friendly places.
Also, if you know of any entertainment type places that we should be careful with, please give that info also.

We went last summer w/ Justin (DS w/ the food allergies) was a baby so we weren't paying attention to allergies at the time. But we did go to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede...it is a huge place where you eat (mostly w/ your fingers) and watch a show w/ horses, cowboys, dancers, music etc.). It is a little expensive but as far as I can remember the food was like bbq chicken, corn on the cob, potatos, roll, ice tea...can't remember if there were any peanuts in the "bar" area where you wait before the show...it might be worth a call to check out, b/c they serve the same thing at every show, so they should have a good handle on what is in it!!!

Thanks Melissa! I got your message after I got back (my fault, I should have posted earlier). However, we had a great time. We didn't do the Stampede, but we did go to a small amusement park that I would like to recommend to PA folks. It is in Cherokee, North Carolina about an hour drive from Pigeon Forge, TN. The name is "Santa's Land". It's a great place to take small children and they will let you bring your own food! Thought I'd mention it on this thread because (even though it's small) we really enjoyed it.
