Cayley got a box of Sixlets for Christmas from Amy2 - we exchanged "safe" candies for our kids.
Cayley is PA only - she loved the Sixlets, and Amy2's PA child also eats them with no trouble. Hershey's seems to be allergy aware to me - I know some people would disagree, but I would let her eat the Sixlets again.
I just found sixlets for evan this week, he has eaten them twice, and had no problems, I bought them in the little clear plastic sleeve, and got those ten for a dollar, so we have alot left, and i will continue to give them to him as long as he or anyone else has not had a reaction to them.
sorry, posted the same message twice.

There is information on other threads about Sixlets--just use the search function on these boards and type in Sixlets. The consensus seems to be that they are safe for people with peanut allergy. We just started letting our son have them--he uses them to decorate the homemade "safe cupcake" that we take with us to birthday parties.
Where can you find sixlets? I live in Michigan and haven't seen them unless I am looking in the wrong place!
Jodi,
I live in Michigan also, I noticed that you live in montrose, I have no idea where that is, i live in pontiac, there is a new store that just opened in waterford called dollar general and they carry the sixlets. I do not know if ther are other dollar general stores around, but the ones i got were 10 for a dollar and i could durely pick some up and send them if you cant find them.
I give Nick sixlets all the time with out any problems. I find them at Target, Kmart and Nobbies. Kim
I've bought sixlets, here in Virginia, at Target also.
Check out the thread I started under "living with .." called 'Do you believe these companies.'
I have called Hersheys and so have a few other parents with surprising results.
So many threads on this so I am reraising a few to post my call from today.
I spoke with Hershey today. I got a very emphatic resonse on how very seriously they take these issues on allergens. She looked up the specific product, sixlets. She cannot give out exact info. regarding if the equipment is shared or not. She said they follow safe manufacturing cleaning procedures, have the allergy task force checking all equipement regularly and stated with the utmost confidence several times that, "if there is no warning on the package, and no nuts/peanuts in the ingredients, of course, that they believe the product has not come into contact with the allergen in question."
I cannot tell you how serious and confident she was as she said this several times. She also was a little personable and not just reading it off a page, though there was that too. They do put warnings on plenty of packages, so I am inclined to trust Hershey labeling. I think it is the best we are going to get in this country short of a nut free plant.
Just figure it is a good time to get updated resonses logged! Becca
