I am prepared
Big generator to power the refrigerators and freezers, ovens .....
Our underground gas tank is full to power generator
We have tanks to power outdoor grill
Stocked up on food and water and the emergency supplies
Animals in garage safe and sound
Gas tanks full
Lots of epi's and beni
BUT, just knowing that EMS couldn't get here when winds get bad scares the hell out of me. I wont even talk about it but I will write it since I know you all will understand.
Please say a little prayer for us and everyone in this storm. I guess I am just nervous.....

Good luck to you, We are getting plenty of rain and that is more than what I want. I wish you and the family well.
I can not imagine being in a hurricane when we are afraid of a thunder storm in this house.
Praying that everything goes well for you. Take care Claire

Danielle,
Odds are everything is going to go smoothly -just don't risk eating any new foods etc. Do you have a neighbor who is in the medical field (nurse, doctor, paramedic, etc) that you could express your anxiety to, who might be willing to be sort of "on call" for you during this time for the SLIM chance that the need arises?

Danielle,
I hope you and your family fair well in the storm. I understand why you're nervous, but it sounds like you've taken every precaution you could. Maybe that's what nervousness is for...to move us into action??
If you lose power and storm is really bad, maybe stick with the "safest" foods you've eaten over and over. Make it an adventure of sorts for the kids?
Good luck!

My thoughts exactly. We are awaiting to see if it is going to hit and I was thinking the same thing. We have three epi pens so that would ge me to the E.R. But it is scary. We living military housing and a neighbor came over to say that we are on lockdown and she was eating a peanutbutter sandwich..ugh.
Not only that..he came home from school with blood shot eyes and a runny nose. Now he has a belly ache. In my head, I am thinking..not now, it really is not a great time to have a middle in the night E.R. call.
They only had half a day school day today due to the hurricane and everyone was kinda acting laid back and I found out that they have not been cleaning their hands upon entering the room after lunch and they have around 18 kids that take their own lunch in his classroom. The person that sits across from him takes peanut butter everyday!!!! A little of topic..sorry. haha
Renee..hope you stay safe.

Hi Danielle,
How did you all make out?
My cousin is in Bonita Springs, and of course we can't reach her. I'm hoping she'll get in touch with her parents ASAP, and that they'll let us know how her family is.
