Has anyone had any sucess in sending home a letter to the classroom parents requesting them not to send peanut products in snacks? If anyone has a draft that they would like to share, I would appreciate it!

I just bought the book by Lisa Cipriano Collins called "Caring for Your Child with Severe Food Allergies". It has a sample letter in it that her son's teacher sent to all the parents of his classmates. It's a good book if you can get past all the "plugs" for the Food Allergy Network!

The Calgary Allergy Network site includes sample letters and newsletter items for the school to use. It is at http://www.cadvision.com/allergy
The letter that my son's school sent home was based on the letters from this site. The letter should come from the school rather than from you as it is requesting compliance with a school policy and that is their responsibility, not yours, and compliance is not a request but a demand! I also refer all concerns about the school's policy to the principal.
