safe valentine cupcakes (Canada)

Hi I was pleasantly surprised to find safe decorated Valentine cupcakes at Food Basics today. I usually don't even bother looking at the packages of fresh baked goods, but for some reason I picked this one up.

It is manufactured by The French Oven bakery in Etobicoke (part of Toronto). The label clearly states: This product was made in a NUT FREE facility. No ANIMAL FATS were used in the manufacture of this product. Flavourings do not contain ALCOHOL.

I decided to buy it even though I couldn't find a price marked on it. In the past, kids have brought unsafe cupcakes to school and Hannah has avoided them without complaining even though she found them appealing. It was great to be able to offer a safe one.

I'm just bumping this up because I was at the store again today and looked more closely in the bakery department.

French Oven bakery makes lots of other safe items including slab cakes and layer birthday cakes (with the same nut free advisory).

People in the Toronto area might want to ask their Food Basics stores about ordering from French Oven Bakery.
