I called a pecan processing plant in my mother's hometown that says they only process pecans.. NO PEANUTS.. Would you give them to your PA child?

No, because:
1) The high comorbidity between PA and TNA. Even if the child is not currently TNA, it could develop at any time;
2) When teaching a child to be responsible for their allergy, it's best not to confuse them. Pecans could easily be confused with peanuts, and they surely would have a hard time differentiating safe pecans from unsafe pecans (which are surely more common)!
It's a bummer, I know. I haven't made pecan pie in about 9 years, and I used to make a mean one!
