I did not find a Phone # on Tootsie rolls or Pez. Does anyone have a contact #? Thanks.

MaureenAnn,
I just recently allowed my son to start eating York Peppermint Patties with no problems.
kstreeter,
I received a letter from Tootsie roll Industries, Inc. responding to my inquiry on their products. The contact was Janet M. Vasilenko, Consumer Relations Administrator, phone #773-838-3424. This was her direct line. The letter was dated June 12, 2000 so I can't be sure you'll get her in case she left the company. A direct quote from her letter is as follows:
"We are pleased to be able to inform you that, at this time, to the very best of our knowledge, all of our confections are nut and nut product free. We are including a listing of the products we make for your information."

Another non-food item idea for a Halloween bag - my son discovered Slinky this weekend and he can't get enough of watching the Slinky go down the stairs.
I know Pez is in CT - I'll see if I can dig up a phone number somewhere.

Thanks Heather2. I called Pez and was given the corporate #203-795-0531 to call. The person I spoke to said that their processing plant is nut/peanut free, but she could not vouch for their suppliers. I was so disappointed. Pez are such a fun treat and I am sure my kids would like them. Now I am a little wary about giving Pez to my kids.
I called Tootsie roll and was told that none of their products contain nuts/peanuts and they do not have any nut/peanut products in the processing plant.
Also got confirmation from CeDe Candies that they have a nut/peanut free plant. All their candies are also "safe". (800-473-7383)

kstreeter: I spoke with a customer service rep at PEZ today and was informed their manufacturing facility is peanut/nut free and they do not use any suppliers since they make their own candy...I am a little confused by your post...who told you that they can't vouch for their "suppliers"? I think they sound safe to me...let me know what you think...Thanks!
