Hmmm, all the Ghirardelli's around here are labelled "May Contain".

Yes Ghirardelli's is labelled as "may contain" here as well.
It's been about a year since I have checked but Nestle had the same "may contain" warning, too.
I only buy Hershey's.

AJSMAMA, I found the "Guittard" white choc. morsels at a local Dollar General the other day. What do you know about the brand?? Thought about getting some, but wanted to check with someone who used them first.

I've used Nestle semi-sweet chips for the last five years, and they have never had a may contain warning.
Some of their other chips do have a "processed on equip with peanuts" warning (I think the *milk* chocolate chips do, and the choc chunk morsels.)

Tina, as far as I know, Guittard is safe. I called a while ago, though(might be 2 years), and they said it was a nut free line for all their chips. I order them each year for flavors I cannot otherwise find, such as white chips, mint chips and butterscotch chips. They did say something about an alomnod something on their packaging lines but it does not com in contact with anything else. You can search manufacturers for Guittard and find my response from them. becca

Thanks Becca for researching Guittard! I found your post on the manufacturer thread. I think I'll go out and get those white choc. morsels, if the DG still has them.

I use Hershey - but I do check the lable every time, as not all of their baking chips are safe.
Does anyone know of any (Canadian) brands that have flavours other then chocolate that are safe?

I've been using Baker's. They have butterscotch chips with no may contain warning (in addition to the milk choc., semi-sweet and white choc.).
