So funny--I just did a search using the exact words "safe candy canes" and your thread came up! I called Spangler too and was told the candy canes, dum dums, and safety pops (not sure what these are) are made on dedicated lines on the 2nd floor of the facility and they consider them safe for pna/tna (also free of milk, egg,and gluten), but that a chocolate candy containing peanuts is made on the 1st floor.

I just bought a few boxes of Spangler candy canes (plain old peppermint flavor), and the label said that it was in a factory that did not process peanuts or treenuts. Also, we have always purchased Hershey's mint and chocolate candy canes. They aren't as good as the peppermint candy canes and I think I will skip them this year- we had 4 cavities at our last dental checkup.

Pure Fun should be free of D, E, P, T and sesame but double check for yourselves. They are a health food brand available at at least some Whole Foods, etc and *dye free* as well!

We bought the Hersheys chocolate mint, Spangler mint, Starburst and I think skittles (not sure about name of those). My son has not had any problems, but I have not called. For me a tree isn't complete without the candy canes. Family tradition!
