My son eats rice crispy treats all the time, even the pre packaged ones. I guess I never thought to check the label becuase I knew they were just the rice crispies cereal, butter and marshmellows. Am I not understanding?

I just wanted to share that the prepackaged ones I see in our stores here now have a Peanut Butter version. Therefore I no longer buy either the plain or the peanut butter. There could be other brands elsewhere where this is not the case.
In my mind even if they do a "allergen wash" this product is especially sticky / hard to clean.
just my comfort zone.

If it helps at all, my PA son has been eating the packaged rice krispy treats for years with absolutely no problem and he is severely peanut and tree nut allergic. He's had the plain, chocolatey drizzle, and the fudge chunck one. Nabisco will label if there are shared lines. For example, their Ritz bits cheese flavor list peanut in the ingredients (last I checked) because they use a shared line with the pb variety.

We've used Kellogs Rice Krispies cereal,
Campfire Marshmallows and Land O lakes butter for 3 years without problems
