I am bringing this up so people can start asking about it at restaurants to avoid any cross contamination in their food.
I watch a lot of food network shows and I often notice that before they finalize the presentation of a plate (known as "plating")they wipe off any food smudges from the plate with a dish towel. What if that towel was used to wipe someone elses plate that had peanut product? It seems this can be a breeding ground for cross contamination? Do some of you ever ask about this at restaurants?
