pMy aunt and mother were doing yard work when they accidently pulled up a bees hive! To make a long story short...which is very hard for me!...They were both stung at least 20 times! My mom sprained her wrist during her efforts to escape the bees but my Aunt...well, she began feeling very weak and couldn't stand up! The neighbor (they were out of town at their mother's house) offered to take her to the hospital in about 15 minutes (after she takes her curlers out!). My aunt could barely find the strength to move and was getting nauseous. My mom callled 911. The paramedics administered several doses of epi. as well as other meds.br /
Later, the doctor told her that if my mom hadn't called the squad my aunt might not of made it! I think they said her blood pressure was at 69/38 when the medics arrived on the scene. Scary....but they laugh about it now! Needless to say, my aunt had to go to her family doc. and get an epipen to carry. I tease her about needing one now! Although very careful with my kids allergies, both she and my mom sometimes act as if I'm paranoid about keeping their medicines handy! Of course, I hope she never has to use it again but perhaps this will make her more understanding about my "paranoia"! /p

Wow! Or should I say "ouch"! That's scary! We don't know if DS (PA/TNA)is allergic to bee stings or not - but I am glad to know that we have the epi pen if we ever need it for a sting. The wasps at the school are really bad right now- a number of kids have been stung ( one had a bad reaction, the others have been mild so far).
Hope your mom and aunt are okay!
