Reaction at Esthetician

I have had skin contact reactions in the past, but this evening after an upper leg wax, my esthetician put a cream on me (which I read in advance and it listed 'natural oil'. I should not have allowed her to put it on, but I never thought natural oil would be peanut based). I developed a major case of hives and became itchy everwhere she rubbed the cream in. I took a benadryl and drove like crazy to my sisters house (she lives 3 mins from where I was) and went to see her neighbor who is a pediatric allergist. I am fine now (a little dopey from the 2 25mg benadryl's I took!), but no further reaction or sign or one.
This allergy is not new to me. I have had it for 25 years and I am very diligent with asking and reading. I am posting this to remind people that we can never assume. It was a potentially life threatening mistake I made by allowing something with an unidentified 'natural oil' to be used on me. The product was from the company Star Nail Products. I googled it so I can call them and get more info, and there is no functional site.

I am glad you're ok. FWIW, a couple of friends with no allergies have experienced a nasty case of hives after waxing. It seemed that is was from the skin trauma....ouch. If you were reacting to the natural oils it probably didn't help that the skin was sensitive from the waxing.
