I wonder if those of your children that had high scores on either of these tests, are Multi-allergic?
For those kids that tested high on one of the tests, if they have more than one food allergy do they also have environmental allergies, or asthma?
Thanks!
My son's RAST number was very high for Peanut - 40.1 or 6932%, but his over all IgE number is only a 145 - which is fairly high but I've seen lots higher on here.
My son is basically only allergic to peanuts - everything else came back very low so I'm thinking that's why his overall number wasn't as high as some of the others on here.

Yes, my ds is >100 on the RAST and 4+ SPT.
He is also allergic to soy, shellfish, presumably-tree nuts, cinnamon, can't tolerate milk, cats, has mild environmental allergies and along came the asthma at age 3. I'm suspecting some other foods as well, that he wasn't tested for, but just avoiding them for now. His food allergies actually got worse between age 3 and 4 yrs.
I have no idea what his total IGE is.
Yes, high scores,
yes more than one food or environmental allergies,
Yes, asthma
and eczema.
DS is 121/2 and continues to have all 4 manifestation of the apotic gene severely.
Thankfully his eczema is much better and he's down to 5 foods 4 of which he avoids smell or contact, we're in our new home almost one year- made some changes for him- and us. His asthma is up and down, but well controled now.

Ryan's RAST score was about 5400, and is only allergic to peanuts at this time.
Both girls are class 5 peanuts... only allergic to peanuts that we know of.. both do have environmental allergies

HI I just wanted to say I am a mom of twins ( age 6) fraternal where one is allergic and one is not. My older son, age 9, is not allergic as well. Isn't life fun having twins, and twins with different needs?

DS is 95 on CAP RAST for peanuts. He does have asthma. Skin prick tests for tree nuts were ambiguous and we have not yet done CAP RAST for tree nuts (but are acting like he's allergic to them until we do more testing). Don't know yet about environmental allergies, though it would not surprise me at all since I have strong allergies to pollen, dust, and mold.
Thanks for your replies this far
Ok, here's another question for you. For those of you that have kids with ea's, what time of the year were they tested for peanut(skin/rast/caprast)?
I'm wondering if their is any change in scores when allergy season is happening and they get tested for pa. They can't have any allergy meds. before hand, so you can't give them any allergy relief(4-7 days before test?)
Every time my pa son was tested was in the Winter. After being tested for pa in Jan. (almost 3yrs. old)the following September is when he came out with ea's.
sueqtpie,
I love having twins, we are truly blessed...in more ways than one
