(edited),
I will probably add something for them to sign and understand about their children not eating peanuts or peanut products before coming here. I have a 7 month old, a 16 month old and newly 2 year old and a 6 year old who comes after kindergarten- he eats lunch with me. (Plus my 3 yr old and 11 month old PA son) None of the little ones eat peanuts yet- but the 6 yr old loves peanut butter.
My 3 yr old son can probably give or take peanut butter and will probably not know what he is missing. But I will have to stress to the kindergartner and his parents the seriousness of not eating anything prior to coming here.
What about siblings? My 3 yr old will have to eat what I provide- but what about him getting peanut butter at other's houses etc. Do I need to police him at parties, playdates etc - in case he touches the 11 month old after eating or touching peanuts? Or worry if he kisses my PA son etc??

if your other child does end up missing peanut butter, i have found sunbutter (particularly the creamy and cruncy versions) to be a really, really great alternative. we can barely tell the difference and it's safe for your PA child too! the shipping and handling is too high for me to buy it very often (we can't find it here in our area) but it is a great occasional treat that helps us not miss pb at all.

Thanks so much!
We bought the party supplies today! (I think he is darn cute!) I usually love to get neat cakes from the bakery. Now I have to make my own and try to decorate it- any suggestions?
I will do what I can to keep my 3yr old away from it. What about chocolate? If he eats chocloate should we owrry about him kissing his brother? We are rewarding his potty training with m&ms. Now I am worried.

joeybeth- I don't think my 3 yr old will really miss peanut butter- it is the daycare kiddo that will. He loves it. And just today I was wondering what to serve for lunch tomorrow and normally would opt for pb&js.

You could switch to some other bite sized treat. If he really goes for chocolate you can give him a chocolate chip. I would not use M&M's since they do contain peanuts and could easily be dropped and picked up by the baby.

Wow! My daughter first reacted to peanut butter when she was 11 months old too. Her epi-pen was prescribed immediately.
I think having the parents sign a form agreeing for their child to have not eaten peanut butter prior to attending your place is fine. You could even opt to wipe their faces and hands upon entry. They should and need to understand the repercussions of IF your little one needed to urgently go via ambulance to hospital [which is very likely] and they'd therefore hopefully want to do their utmost to prevent an allergic reaction occurring.
In regards to your other child, you as the parent purchase the groceries, and you might 'forget' continually to purchase peanut butter. Soon your other child mightn't remember. But having said that, I would in no way be bringing nuts of ANY sort into your house. IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK.

kissables would be a good alternative to plain m&m's.
