I was watching "Spongebob Squarepants" with my 6 yr old PA son the other day and to my complete horror I see a commercial for a brand-new portable snack product for children. Portable peanut butter in a stick. It's called "Skippy" Squeeze Stix. My mind is spinning!!!!
Oh my god! With all the new awareness about how dangerous peanut allergies are and just how many children get exposed at school, How could they come up with this?
I guess obviously they patterned this product after Go-gurt portable yogurt etc,

When I think of the mess and the cross-contamination possibilities my mind goes crazy with worry!!!!

Just how easy is it supposed to be to smush thick, smeary peanut butter out of a tube into the mouth, all over the fingers etc?

Every time I look around, there seems to be another peanut product being introduced just to make our lives that much harder. But this one really worries me!!!!!!

Just alerting everyone.

the girls and i just saw this on a tv commercial today. bryce said it looked gross even IF you weren't allergic to peanuts! i felt the same way about that nasty looking package of peanut butter slices i saw at the grocery store recently. have you seen them? they come packaged like a package of individually wrapped cheese slices but they are made of peanut butter. looks so unappetizing and gross. since we have two pa girls, of course we don't use any type of peanut products but when i saw those peanut butter slices i thought to myself..."how lazy do you have to be to have your peanut butter in wrapped slices?" it's not like it's hard to prepare the usual way. unfortunately. you are right about that peanut butter go-gurt type stuff....ick. just another example of something we wouldn't be eating/buying even IF we could.

I find it a little ironic that the commercial begins with the words "Look out . . ."
