I just wanted to make those of you who eat at Perkins to be aware of a peanut salad they now have. Not sure if it is just for the summer, but it does have peanuts on top of it. I believe it also has shrimp.

When I first learned of the peanut allergy in our household, I had called Perkins' corporate line and was told that since they were a bakery, and the kitchen is shared, pretty much nothing was safe there. She said there was a possibility that the eggs might be ok, but basically told us we probably didn't want to eat there at all. So we haven't...

Perkins' corporate office told me not to bring my PA DD there when I asked for advice on what would be some good items to order for her.

I do eat at Perkins in Canada and the USA (ie: hot turkey sandwich, pancakes).. and have for many years
though I do understand why many of you do not eat there since they do use peanut products.... so it works for me but may just be my own unique circumstance (if I avoided every restaurant that used peanut products I'd rarely be able to eat out)
but I do not eat anything from their bakery due to high risk of cross contamination in the baked goods.

Thank you for posting this. I was actually going to ask you how often you ate there. My ds has been eating at Perkin's for almost 5 years now and has not had a problem. We do not eat the bakery goods either. He usually gets fries and chicken strips, pancakes or a burger and has not had any problems. So, I would have to say I am ok with him eating there. Thanks.

Hi Jan,
I eat there a few times a year.. maybe about 5 or 10 times? The nearest Perkins is by the airport so there are none in our neighbourhood.
I love the pancakes.. so delicious. I often order pancakes, and sometiems the blueberry pancakes. One of my other favourites is the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatos which I eat often too. I also eat the home fries / breakfast fries too.
=)
