Thanks for the "heads up" on this. This is very scary for the children who are also allergic by touch to peanuts.

Hi everyone,
What in the world could be the reason for making nutty putty or playdough with peanut oil? After all, the kids are not supposed to ingest it, and wouldn't this entice them to do so?

What type of peanut oil? There are conflicting studies regarding the content of allergic protiens in pn oil. Attached are several links to the abstracts.

HI -
I called about the Nutty Putty and Play Doh today at 1-800-PLAY SKL. I spoke with "Mrs. Danielson."
She said that they have not made Nutty Putty for three years.
She said that Play Doh does NOT contain peanut oil. She read the ingred. to me, but I was only listening for some form of peanut product - it was pretty basic - flour, salt, water, etc.
Kord, please let us know where you got this information - I need to follow-up. With all the products out there I really need to know which is the correct information on the Nutty Putty and Play Doh.
I told Mrs. Danielson that this peanut info on the Nutty Putty and Play Doh was posted on a web site and offered her the site address so they (the company) could get the correct info out there. She declined and said they didn't need it.
Now what?

I have relayed all the above information to a friend of mine who is a Director at he Hasbro Headquarters in RI, USA. She has forwarded them to Hasbro's chemist and he is planning to post a response on the message board (if he is unable to get on the board, I will get the info and post it.)

As a representative of Hasbro, I would like to clarify. Play-Doh has been produced for 35 years. Nutty Putty has also been produced for many years. Neither product contains any plant oil, including peanut oil. If there are any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Playskool directly at: 1-800-752-9755 or via e-mail at .
