PeanutAllergy.Com T-shirts, tote bags etc....

Just wanted to let everyone know: The person who was making the T-shirts and tote bags had to stop for health reasons. We are currently looking at a few other companies to see who we will go with. They will of course have to be on we can rely on, they must have good customer service, and make excellent products etc.

I do not know when this decision will be made. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

If you check this products discussion board you will find links to some companies that make T-shirts etc. and they may be able to help you if you need this product while we are making the transition. We do not have any experience with many of the companies that have put links on our products discussion board themselves or if others have put links to the companies so I want to be sure you know that. I have not heard any complaints that I can remember either. As always let us know of your experiences (good and bad) with any company that offers products for the peanut allergy community.

If you try or find a company let me know how good a job they do, you can also let them know that we are currently looking for a company to offer T-shirts, tote bags etc. through so they can contact us about it if they are interested.

Chris,

I know someone who has been in the t-shirt business for a number of years. He has experience with t-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, tote bags, hats, beach towels, etc. He is very reliable. I'll e-mail you with his phone number.

I emailed Chris recently to propose holding a pa.com t-shirt logo contest.

Those with ideas (or kids armed with crayons) could submit their ideas to pa.com. A modest entry fee could be charged to help the organization financially. The winner would receive a free t-shirt and/or tote.

Apparently there was a thread that discussed possible slogans but I couldn't find it. As soon as I have more coffee I'll return here with ideas for slogans. Til then, anyone have suggestions?

I'd love to see some T-shirts soon!

I think it would be great if the front of the shirt said:

PeanutAllergy.com Determined to Make a Difference

and if on the back there was something eye-catching like:

Parents Educators Allergic individuals Now United Together Allergy.com - Log on, see what we're talking about!

It would be great if it was colorful... just thinking of some ideas, love to hear more!

I wish we could purchase products for our children with a picture of a peanut with the red circle and slash through it.

Twinkiesmom,

I made a sign with a peanut and red circle with a slash through it on my computer, I bought the Avery iron sheets, printed it out and ironed it on a white t-shirt.

Every year before school starts, I take a picture of her in the shirt and send it to school. The picture is attached (multi copies) to her emergency plan on the bus, classroom, nurses office, school file, etc.

I also put this same symbol on a small address label ( no address) with some words about her being deathly allergic to peanut products. I put this label on every form that I fill out for the school. I put it on anything that gets returned to the teacher or office as a reminder of the seriousness of her allergy (example field trip permission notes)

It work out very well.

I have recently designed some shirts for kids w/ peanut allergy and multiple food allergies. You can see the "Harmon Products" post by Syd's Mom, or follow the link below, if you are interested:

As far as having peanutallergy.com shirts made up, I used CafePress to host my "shops," and probably the profit isn't as high there as it is to have someone print them locally and then distribute, but it was easy to do.
