Hi

Just found your traditional hollow chocolate bunny in 3 sizes at Kmart. They are made by Merlin Chocolates/candies and have a big yellow stamp under the ingredients list that says they are PEANUT FREE!!!!!!!!

I was so excited I bought them for all my boys, I had to restrain myself and not buy the 24 oz size mega bunny!!!! We have only dont the Hershey solid little bunnies before so I cant wait for them to bite off the ears!

I called Merlin before Christmas... I forget the exact details not but I do remember for sure that they are not *completely* tree-nut free. What I can't remember is if it was just almonds or other tree-nuts too.
In any event, in case you are interested in a taste test, I would vote thumbs down... the white chocolate was virtually tasteless -- sugar & paraffin, pretty much! -- & even the milk chocolate was much waxier than what we were accustomed to. (And I am not a picky food connoisseur, either!) Now maybe that is necessary because it was a *large* hollow snowman/Santa (I forget now), but we didn't like it & won't buy it again.
Also, the size we bought was $10 at our local grocery store (DC metro area) but I also saw it on sale for $6 at a CVS.

Last year the Cadbury bunny was safe. I saw a huge Hershey bunny today which was safe. Has egg in it though in case anyone egg allergic.
