On Thursday or Friday of last week (I can't remember--it was one of the days before Rita hit, and I couldn't take the time to post then), DS was watching Zoom on PBS Kids, and he ran upstairs and told me to drop what I was doing, that I had to come downstairs to watch what was on TV--that I would be so happy.
Okay-I'm in the middle of preparing for what was at that moment a Category 5 hurricane, the worst in the Gulf. I'm doing a billion things at once to get ready. There's no way I have time to watch TV. But he means it, so I do. He's paused the Tivo, and he rewinds it, and if you've ever seen Zoom, they regularly have a cooking segment, and this was one of them. The Zoomer (the kid on the Zoom cast) was making something using PB, and she said, "but if you're allergic to peanut butter, you can use cream cheese for this."
DS beamed and summed it up: "They finally gave a peanut warning Mommy!" I hugged him and thanked him for coming to get me. I'm going to email the producers of Zoom to thank them. If any of you saw it or like the show, I hope you do, too. The newest episodes are airing right now, and this is the last season, unless things have changed. So this is a new thing. Let's thank the producers for including our children!
