Hi all!

I just wanted to let anyone who lives in the Charlotte, NC metro area know that we have formed a support group for parents of children with food allergies. We had our first meeting last month and had over 25 moms and dads in attendence! Our e-mail database is growing daily, and we have some fun events planned--a recipe exchange, a food free section at a Charlotte Knights game, an update from a food allergist, a food free Halloween carnival, etc. We would absolutely love to have you join us!

For more information, please e-mail parentsofallergickids@yahoo.com, and we will be happy to get back with you, share the schedule, and answer any questions you may have about the group.

Thanks!

How do I begin to form support group in my city/region? I am having trouble locating the parents of the kids in the school system due to confidentiality. Can I get my local school board to approve a flier to go home with all students? Do you have a sample of what you started with to hand out? Where do you hold the meetings? Do you have guest speakers?
Any info would be helpful to avoid any mistakes along the way.
