I heard that recently, FAAN had an article in its newsletter suggesting a "PAL Table" in the cafeteria to allow allergy conscious friends to sit with their allergic friend at lunch. I think it's a more liberal way of implementing a peanut/nut free table, and may address multiple food allergies.
Has anyone seen this article (probably w/in last couple months)?
If you have it, can I possibly get a copy? I need it very much because our district is trying to restrict nut/peanut-free table only to HOT food...when all the parents are actually comfortable with cold nut-free lunches there and it had been working well. They are concerned that they can't check lunches, and liability -- they have turned it over to "the lawyers".

Thanks Lori Anne! What a great example of the value of this board!!!
I think this article will help w/ our principal and give some ideas about implementing the PAL program.

Could I get a copy of this? I'm really having a hard time with the schools.
I would like a copy as well(if possible)...not sure if it will be of use for multiple allergies, but just in case, I'd love to see!!! Thanks

If LoriAnne can fax the original it might be better because my fax copy came real light (I could read it, but not sure if it will re-fax).
I don't have a fax, but my hubby does at work, if you *att* it to him, that would work....
