Hey Guys! How are you all doing? I haven't been on in a while. My little guy is now 6 and in the first grade. We've been very fortunate that his school has gone peanut free. They are now forming a committee to develop a little cookbook, with ideas for parent's about easy, convenient, and safe lunch and snack ideas. Our school does not have a cafeteria, so each child brings their own lunch and snack. Do you guys have any ideas that I could submit? I understand the struggle the parents may face, but because I have always used peanut free stuff for him, it's hard for me to imagine clever substitutes. I know there are some good ideas out there. What has worked for you all? Thanks!

Another PA mom and myself did a "cookbook" for a health fair we did a few years ago. It is set up to print in book format and is a MS Word document. It has tips for cooking egg, milk and wheat free. If you want, e-mail me and you can have a copy - I'll send it to you.
Good luck with your project.

Does your school have a website or printed information regarding the decision to go peanut-free? Would it be possible to use your son's school as an example? Thanks!
