My dd just brought home a fundraiser for Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough, brownies & pretzels. 1-888-ASK-OTIS

Pretzels are made in a non peanut facility. Brownies are made in a peanut facility but on dedicated lines.

Cookie dough- Run non nut dough at the beginning of the week then they switch to the nut kind at the end of the week. On the weekends they run an 8 hour wash then do an alert test. If no traces of nuts are found then they start up again on Monday with non nut dough. If traces found they do another wash.

The rep I spoke with is planning to forward information to Red Apple Morley to include with future fundraiser brochures about their manufacturing processes.

My daughter's school used to use Red Apple and sold the Otis Spunkmeyer dough. I was also told all the same info. as you by someone on the phone, their rep. at our school, and some info. on their website. I was very disappointed to see the cookie dough when it arrived at our school all carrying the May Contain warning. Hopefully they have changed their practices.

Thought I needed to re-raise this because I called Otis Spunkmeyer recently about their new "ready to bake" type cookies that I have found at our Wal-Mart Supercenter. I got the same response as Jacob's mom. The package has no "may contain" warning and when I called I asked specifically about the ready to bake product that they have out. We consider these delicious and safe! Just wanted to get the word out about these.

I found the frozen ready to back Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at Walmart this weekend and was excited to see the labeling....I hadn't seen this post yet and thought I would call to double check the label. The customer rep was very helpful and gave me the same info. that is stated above. I have not decided my comfort zone on this and wanted to see if anyone is using this product and if they are reaction free...I will probably use them, just worry about the cross cont. issue but it does sound like they are consistant and test each time.

Yes, we are eating the cookies with no problem. They are very delicious also! One of the best cookies I ever bought! However, be careful if you have a Wal-mart snack bar, the cookies, muffins there are usually may contain. The info I got from the rep was to read the label.

Are these the cookies that are sent to the vendor in tubs and baked on premises? If so, wouldn't the trays & utensils get contaminated?
